Job description

Captain position at Africa World Airlines, based in Greater Accra, Ghana. Key Tasks: - Be responsible for the safe operation of the aeroplane and safety of its occupants and cargo during flight. - Give necessary commands to secure the safety of the aeroplane and of persons or property carried therein. - Ensure that all operational procedures and checklists are complied with, in accordance with the Company's Operations Manuals. - Ensure that the weather forecast and reports for the proposed operating area and flight duration indicate that the flight may be conducted without infringing company operating minima. - Take all reasonable steps to ensure that the aeroplane, and any required equipment is serviceable and that relevant emergency equipment is serviceable and ready for use. - Take all reasonable steps to ensure that the aeroplane mass and balance are within the calculated limits for the operating conditions. - Ensure completion of all pertinent records of the flight and ensure the compliance of checklists. - Ensure operations are conducted in accordance with the rules, laws and regulations where flights are conducted. - Maintain a high personal standard of discipline, conduct and appearance as a representative of Africa World Airlines at all times. Qualifications & Experience: - A minimum of 3,000 hours total flying time including 1,000 hours Pilot In Command (PIC) and at least 2,000 hours flying multi-crew turboprop or jet aircraft. - Valid ICAO ATPL with EMB145 type-rating OR Valid Ghana ATPL. - Valid passport. - Valid/current Medical Certificate (Class 1). - No history of incidents/accidents. - Must provide a letter from current/previous employer or CAA. - Minimum ICAO Level 4 English proficiency. - No criminal history. - Must provide a notarized and authenticated proof of no criminal history document from home country (Non-Ghanaians).
