Job description
Air Methods is seeking a Helicopter Pilot (VFR) for the Bell 407 based in Bullhead City, AZ, operating under the TriState Careflight program. The pilot is responsible for ensuring aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy to transport medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within an assigned operational area. Compliance with FARs, AIM, GOM guidelines, and Air Methods policies is required. Schedule: 7/7, 12-hour shifts. Responsibilities: - Operate Air Methods aircraft safely and legally - Complete pre-flight checks and verify airworthiness via Daily Flight Log - Final authority for aircraft operations and safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment - Familiar with all aircraft and medical systems at the operational area - Complete required documentation - Conduct detailed flight planning with little notice - Participate in meetings, activities, and community outreach Requirements (VFR Program): - 2,000 total flight hours, minimum 1,500 in category (rotor wing) - 1,000 hours PIC in category - 500 hours rotor wing turbine - 200 hours cross-country flight time (at least 50 hours at night) - 100 hours unaided night PIC (50 hours unaided can be substituted by 100 hours NVG, but cannot reduce below 50 hours unaided) - 50 hours total actual or hood instrument time in flight and in category - Instrument rating (for category and class of aircraft; ATP rating meets this requirement) - Commercial single-engine land required for single-engine aircraft - Fixed wing multiengine rating required for twin-engine aircraft - First OR Second Class FAA Medical certificate - Must have flown in category within the previous 24 months - Weight not to exceed 250 lbs; must be under 70 years old - Associate's degree or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred
