Job description

Helicopter Pilot position with Air Methods / LifeNet - KY, based in Bedford, KY. Operating EC-130 under VFR program. Responsible for ensuring aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy to transport medical crew and patient to receiving hospital within an assigned operational area. Must comply with FAR, AIM, GOM, and Air Methods policies and procedures. Responsibilities: - Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner - Complete pre-flight checks and verify airworthy condition - Final authority regarding aircraft operations and safety of passengers, cargo and equipment - Familiar with all aircraft and medical systems - Complete required documentation - Conduct detailed flight planning - Participate in Air Methods meetings, activities and community outreach Schedule: 7/7, 12-hour shifts Requirements: - Age: under 70 years old; weight not to exceed 250 pounds - Must have flown in category within the previous 24 months - VFR Program: - 2,000 total flight hours with minimum 1,500 hours in category (rotary wing) - 1,000 hours PIC in category - 500 hours rotor wing turbine - 200 hours cross-country flight time, at least 50 hours at night - 100 hours unaided night PIC - 50 hours total actual or hood instrument time in flight and in category - Instrument rating (for category and class of aircraft) - Commercial single-engine land required for single-engine aircraft - First OR Second Class FAA Medical certificate required - Associate's degree or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred

Additional requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two to five years' related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must have flown in category within the previous 24 months
• Weight not to exceed 250 pounds
• Subject to DOT/FAA drug and/or alcohol testing
