Job description

Air Methods is seeking a Helicopter Pilot (VFR) for the Life Net program based in Rio Rico, AZ, operating the AS350. The pilot is responsible for ensuring aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy to transport medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within an assigned operational area. Must comply with FAR, AIM, GOM guidelines, and Air Methods policies and procedures. Responsibilities: - Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner - Complete pre-flight checks and sign off Daily Flight Log - Final authority regarding aircraft operations and safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment - Familiar with all aircraft and medical systems - Complete required documentation - Conduct detailed flight planning with little notice - Participate in Air Methods meetings, activities, and community outreach Requirements: - VFR Program: - 2,000 total flight hours with a minimum of 1,500 flight hours in category (rotor wing) - 1,000 hours PIC in category - 500 hours rotor wing turbine - 200 hours cross-country flight time, at least 50 hours at night - 100 hours unaided night as PIC - 50 hours total actual or hood instrument time in flight and in category - Must have flown in category within the previous 24 months - Weight not to exceed 250 pounds; must be less than 70 years old - Instrument rating (for category and class of aircraft); ATP rating in category meets this requirement - Commercial single-engine land required for single-engine aircraft - First OR Second Class FAA Medical certificate required - Associate's degree or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred - Schedule: 7/7, 12-hour shifts
