Job description

Rotor Wing Pilot - UNC Carolina Air Care, Aberdeen, NC. EMS Air Medical Aircraft: Bell 429 (IFR). $5,000 Annual Stipend and $15,000 Sign-on Bonus Available. Responsible to ensure aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy to transport medical crew and patient to receiving hospital within an assigned operational area. Responsible for compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), General Operations Manual guidelines (GOM), and thorough knowledge of Air Methods policies and procedures. Essential Functions: Operates Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner. Completes pre-flight before every flight. Final authority with regard to operations of aircraft and for the safety of passengers, cargo and equipment. Must be thoroughly familiar with all aircraft and medical systems. Responsible for completion of required documentation. Able to conduct detailed flight planning with little notice to exacting standards. IFR Program Requirements: - FAA Commercial Helicopter Certificate with Instrument Helicopter Rating - BA or BS degree preferred - 2,500 hours helicopter (3,000 hours preferred); 1,000 hours turbine - 1,000 hours Pilot-in-Command - 200 hours night - 100 hours instrument preferred - Instrument qualified and current in assigned aircraft - Night qualified and current in assigned aircraft - Factory approved or equivalent ground and flight school in assigned aircraft - FAA First OR Second Class Medical certificate required - ATP rating in category meets the Commercial + Instrument requirement - FAA second class flight physical undertaken once each year Additional Requirements: - Must have flown in category for a commercial operator or in the military within the previous 24 months - Weight not to exceed 250 pounds - Must be less than 70 years old - Subject to DOT/FAA drug and/or alcohol testing

Additional requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two to five years' related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must have flown in category for a commercial operator or in the military within the previous 24 months
• Weight not to exceed 250 pounds
• Instrument qualified and current in assigned aircraft
• Night qualified and current in assigned aircraft
• Factory approved or equivalent ground and flight school in assigned aircraft
• Subject to DOT/FAA drug and/or alcohol testing
