Job description
The Rotor Wing Pilot is responsible for professionally and safely operating aircraft for Life Flight Network (LFN) to facilitate care of critically ill and/or injured patients. The Rotor Wing Pilot will possess strong aviation skills, a keen sense of safety, superior customer service skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people, one-on-one and in large groups, sometimes in highly stressful situations. The Rotor Wing Pilot will be required to work varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Will be required to drive personal or company vehicles whenever and wherever business needs necessitate. QUALIFICATIONS: - High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred - 5 years' experience as a professional pilot preferred - 2,000 hours Total Time required - 1,500 hours as Pilot in Command - 1,000 hours Rotor Wing Turbine time required - 75 instrument hours total – with at least 50 hours in aircraft instrument time required (100 hours instrument time preferred) - 100 hours of nighttime required - Pilots with air medical transportation experience preferred - Pilots with NVG experience preferred - Mountain experience preferred - Must hold a FAA Commercial Helicopter Certificate with Instrument Helicopter Rating - Must have and maintain a FAA second class flight physical - Performs pre- and post-flight inspections, plans flights, assists in loading of passengers/baggage/cargo, analyzes weather conditions - Maintains logs and records; prepares written reports - Operates aircraft tug, tractor, and/or ground handling equipment - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Must hold a valid driver's license, have access to an automobile in good repair, provide proof of auto insurance, meet LFN's Driver's Policy requirements
