Job description
First Officer (Home based) - MD-11 Fleet type (October 5, 2026 class date) Western Global Airlines provides air cargo charter flights worldwide, servicing customers in e-commerce, express, freight forwarding, logistics, nonprofit, and governmental organizations. The First Officer is Second-in-Command of the flight. Tour of duty is 17 days away from home base. Essential Duties: - Operates in accordance with Western Global Airlines' approved/accepted manuals and applicable Operations Specifications, 14 CFRs, FAA Orders, Airworthiness Directives, Advisory Circulars, Directives, and Manufacturer's recommendations. - Complies with all administrative programs including airport/route qualification, flight time limitations, currency requirements, pilot flight equipment, uniform discipline, manuals, policies and procedures. Requirements: - Hold a current and valid FAA ATPL. - Hold a valid FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate. - Hold an FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit. - ICAO English Level IV. - 2,500 hours of total flying experience minimum. - No history of accidents or incidents. - A valid US passport allowing unrestricted international travel due to military contract requirements. - Previous Part 121 airline/aviation experience preferred. - Must pass a DOT pre-employment drug test and 10-year background check. Preferred / Ideal Skills: - College degree in Aviation or related field. - Previous B747-400 / Boeing aircraft type rating or MD-11 / Airbus aircraft type rating. - 1,000 hours of flight time under Part 121 operations (up to 500 hours of military flight time as PIC of a multiengine, turbine-powered, fixed-wing airplane may count towards this requirement). - PIC in operations under §135.243(a)(1) or §91.1053(a)(2)(i).
