Job description

Air Methods is seeking a Fixed Wing Pilot for the PC-12 (IFR) program based in North Las Vegas, NV. The pilot is responsible for ensuring aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy to transport medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within an assigned operational area. Must comply with FAR, AIM, GOM guidelines, and Air Methods policies and procedures. Responsibilities: - Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner - Complete pre-flight checks verifying airworthiness by sign-off of Daily Flight Log - Perform complete walk-around prior to and after each flight - Final authority regarding aircraft operations and safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment - Thoroughly familiar with all aircraft and medical systems of backup aircraft - Complete required documentation - Conduct detailed flight planning with little notice - Participate in Air Methods meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach - Regular scheduled attendance (7/7 schedule – 12 hour shifts) Requirements: - IFR Program: 2,500 total flight hours with minimum 2,000 flight hours in category - 1,000 hours PIC in category - 500 hours of cross-country flight time (at least 50 hours at night) - 500 hours of turbine time - 100 hours night flight time - 100 hours of flight in actual instrument conditions in category - Instrument rating (for category and class of aircraft; ATP rating in category meets this requirement) - Commercial single-engine land required for single-engine aircraft - Fixed wing multiengine rating required for twin-engine aircraft - First or Second Class FAA Medical Certificate required - Must have flown in category within the previous 24 months - Weight not to exceed 250 pounds; must be less than 70 years old - Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred
