Job description

Wyoming Life Flight – Helicopter Pilot (VFR) based in Casper, Wyoming. Responsibilities: - Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner. - Complete pre-flight checks verifying airworthy condition via Daily Flight Log; perform full walk-around before and after each flight. - Final authority regarding aircraft operations and safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment. - Must be thoroughly familiar with all aircraft and medical systems of backup aircraft at the operational area. - Ensure medical flight team is familiar with medical interior and systems. - Complete required documentation. - Conduct detailed flight planning with little notice. - Participate in Air Methods meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach. - Regular scheduled attendance on a 7/7 schedule with 12-hour shifts. Requirements: - Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college/technical school plus 2–5 years' related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree preferred. - Must have flown in category within the previous 24 months. - Weight not to exceed 250 lbs; must be under 70 years old. - VFR Program minimums: - 2,000 total flight hours with minimum 1,500 hours in category (rotor wing). - 1,000 hours PIC in category. - 500 hours rotor wing turbine. - 200 hours cross-country flight time (at least 50 hours at night). - 100 hours unaided night as PIC (50 hours unaided can be substituted by 100 hours NVG, but cannot go below 50 hours unaided). - 50 hours total actual or hood instrument time in flight and in category. - Instrument rating (for category and class of aircraft); ATP rating in category meets this requirement. - Commercial single engine land required for single engine aircraft. - First OR Second Class FAA Medical certificate required.
