Job description
Air Methods is seeking a Helicopter Pilot for the SEMSA base in Susanville, California, operating a Bell 407 GXI under VFR rules. The pilot is responsible for ensuring aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy to transport medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within an assigned operational area. Compliance with FAR, AIM, GOM, and Air Methods policies is required. Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off (12-hour shifts). Responsibilities: - Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner - Complete pre-flight checks and sign off Daily Flight Log - Final authority for aircraft operations and safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment - Familiar with all aircraft and medical systems - Complete required documentation - Conduct detailed flight planning with little notice - Participate in Air Methods meetings, activities, and community outreach Requirements: - 2,000 total flight hours with minimum 1,500 flight hours in category (rotor wing) - 1,000 hours PIC in category - 500 hours rotor wing turbine - 200 hours cross-country flight time (at least 50 hours at night) - 100 hours unaided night PIC (50 hours unaided can be substituted by 100 hours NVG time, but cannot be reduced below 50 hours unaided) - 50 hours total actual or hood instrument time in flight and in category - Must have flown in category within the previous 24 months - Instrument rating (for category and class of aircraft); ATP rating in category meets this requirement - Commercial single engine land required for single engine aircraft - First OR Second Class FAA Medical certificate required - Weight not to exceed 250 pounds; must be less than 70 years old - Associate's degree or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred

Compensation and Benefits
$82,900 – $93,251 per year (USD)
