Job description

Helicopter Pilot - Springfield, GA (LifeStar One base). Bell 407 / VFR program. Job Summary: Responsible for ensuring aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy to transport medical crew and patient to receiving hospital within an assigned operational area. Responsible for compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), General Operations Manual guidelines (GOM), and thorough knowledge of Air Methods policies and procedures. Schedule: 7/7, 12-hour shifts. Qualifications: - Must have flown in category within the previous 24 months - VFR Program requirements: - 2,000 total flight hours with a minimum of 1,500 flight hours in category (helicopter) - 1,000 hours PIC in category - 500 hours rotor wing turbine - 200 hours cross-country flight time (at least 50 hours at night) - 100 hours unaided night PIC (50 hours unaided can be substituted by 100 hours NVG, but cannot be reduced below 50 hours unaided) - 50 hours total actual or hood instrument time in flight and in category - Instrument rating required (for category and class of aircraft; ATP in category meets this requirement) - Commercial single-engine land required for single-engine aircraft - Fixed wing multiengine rating required for twin-engine aircraft - FAA First OR Second Class Medical certificate required - Weight not to exceed 250 lbs; must be under 70 years old - Associate's degree or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred - Subject to DOT/FAA drug and/or alcohol testing
