The Float Rotor Wing Pilot is responsible for professionally and safely operating aircraft for Life Flight Network to facilitate care of critically ill and/or injured patients. Rotor Wing Pilots possess strong aviation skills, a keen sense of safety, superior customer service skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people. The Float Rotor Wing Pilot will be required to work varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Float positions are full-time, covering open shifts on the schedule due to line pilot vacations, leave, etc. Seven shifts are guaranteed in the pay period but may not be consecutive or all at the same base. Performs pre- and post-flight inspections, plans flights, assists in loading of passengers, baggage and cargo, and analyzes weather conditions. Maintains logs and records, prepares written reports, and operates aircraft tug, tractor, and/or ground handling equipment. Requires High School diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's Degree preferred), 5 years' experience as a professional pilot preferred, 2000 hours Total Time, 1500 hours PIC, 1000 hours R/W Turbine time, 75 instrument hours total with at least 50 hours in aircraft instrument time, 100 hours nighttime. Must hold FAA Commercial Helicopter Certificate with Instrument Helicopter Rating. Must have and maintain FAA second class flight physical. Air medical transportation experience, NVG experience, and mountain experience preferred. Must hold valid driver's license with access to automobile and proof of auto insurance. All candidates subject to drug screening and background investigation.
