Captain - EC130 (NTR)

Job description

Native Air / Air Methods is seeking a Helicopter Pilot (VFR) based in Artesia, NM to operate EC130 aircraft in the air medical transport industry. The pilot is responsible for ensuring aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy to transport medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within an assigned operational area, compliance with FAR, AIM, GOM, and Air Methods policies and procedures. Responsibilities include: operating Air Methods aircraft safely and legally; completing pre-flight checks and daily flight logs; serving as final authority for aircraft operations and safety of passengers/cargo; ensuring familiarity with all aircraft and medical systems; completing required documentation; conducting detailed flight planning; participating in meetings, activities, and community outreach. Qualifications: - Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college/technical school with 2-5 years related experience, or equivalent combination; Bachelor's degree preferred. - Must have flown in category for a commercial operator or military within the previous 24 months. - Weight not to exceed 250 lbs; must be under 70 years of age. VFR Program Minimum Required Flight Times: - 2,000 total flight hours with minimum 1,500 hours in category (helicopter) - 1,000 hours PIC in category - 500 hours rotor wing turbine time - 200 hours cross-country flight time (at least 50 hours at night) - 100 hours unaided night PIC (50 hours unaided can be substituted by 100 hours NVG, but cannot be reduced below 50 hours unaided) - 50 hours total actual or hood instrument time in flight and in category (simulator does not count) Certificates/Licenses: - Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating (for category and class of aircraft); ATP in category also meets requirement. - First or Second Class FAA Medical Certificate required. Subject to DOT/FAA drug and/or alcohol testing.

• Subject to DOT/FAA drug and/or alcohol testing (pre-employment, random, reasonable cause/suspicion, post-accident)
