Recruitment details Position: Flight crew (captain candidate, first officer candidate) Job description After joining the company, you will undergo the prescribed training and assessments, and after the issue of your qualification you will work as flight crew on the Boeing 787, engaged in flight operations and related duties. Eligibility Applicants must hold the following currently valid qualifications and experience (qualifications must in principle be those issued by Japan). Those who previously belonged to the JAL Group are also eligible to apply. — Captain candidates — (1) Airline Transport Pilot Licence (skill certificate) (2) Aviation English Proficiency Certificate (Level 4 or higher) (3) Class 1 Aviation Medical Certificate (4) Aeronautical Radio Operator licence (5) 1,000 hours or more of flight experience as captain (PIC) at an airline (air transport operator) (Note 1) (Note 1) This must be flight experience on jet (turbofan) aircraft, and includes experience at airlines of ICAO contracting states and equivalent. At the time of joining, 1,000 hours or more is required; you may apply if you currently have less than 1,000 hours (approximately 850 hours). Note also that even if you satisfy the flight time requirement, depending on your experience the company may at its discretion employ you as a first officer. — First officer candidates — (1) Airline Transport Pilot Licence (skill certificate), or Commercial Pilot Licence (skill certificate) with type rating, multi-engine rating and instrument rating (2) Aviation English Proficiency Certificate (Level 4 or higher) (3) Class 1 Aviation Medical Certificate (4) Aeronautical Radio Operator licence (5) 1,500 hours or more of flight experience at an airline (air transport operator) (Note 2) (Note 2) This must be flight experience on jet (turbofan) aircraft. For holders of an Airline Transport Pilot Licence, experience at airlines of ICAO contracting states and equivalent is included. For holders of a Commercial Pilot Licence, the time includes experience at Japanese airlines. Conditions and benefits (1) Employment type During training you are a fixed-term contract employee; captain candidates become permanent employees on appointment as captain, and first officer candidates on appointment as first officer. The retirement age for permanent employees is 60, and those aged 60 to 65 become contract employees (a single contract to age 65). (Probationary period 3 months.) (2) Place of work Based at Narita International Airport, and at locations designated by the company according to the duties. However, domestic or overseas training facilities may be used during the training period. (3) Salary Paid in accordance with company regulations. Details will be explained at the interview during the selection process. (4) Work, holidays and leave Shift work according to flight duty, ground duty and so on (variable working hours system). * Work on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays may be required. Overtime, holiday and late-night work may be required. Annual paid leave, special condolence and congratulatory leave, and other statutory leave and absence. Selection method Stage 1: document screening → those who pass will be contacted (within approximately 3 months of applying). Stage 2: web aptitude test / aptitude examination / medical examination.
