Job description

Fixed Wing Check Airman position at Air Methods. The role is a company instructor performing oversight, safety, and qualification responsibilities for helicopter and/or fixed-wing pilots undergoing evaluation. Conducts training and flight checks in a classroom, aircraft, or flight simulator. Key Responsibilities: - Evaluate operational compliance including safety, flight operations, maintenance operations, and related procedures - Conduct initial and recurrent training (ground and flight) - Conduct transition, differences, and ROC ground and flight training - Correct and report out-of-compliance issues; coordinate with ACP and Regional Aviation or Maintenance Director as appropriate - Assist in development and implementation of flight and ground training schedules - Ensure standardized training and checking procedures are adhered to - Assist CP and ACP in pilot record keeping per applicable FARs and policies - Submit required reports in a timely manner - Operate advanced aviation training devices and full-motion simulators - Assist in development of aircraft checklists and Air Methods' Pilot Training Programs - Assist in development and conduct of Basic Indoctrination Training, instrument training, and NVG training Qualifications: - High school diploma or GED; 3–5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience - Bachelor's degree preferred - Recommendation from a current Air Methods Flight Instructor or Check Airman preferred - Previous Instructor/Check Airman experience - ATP rating in aircraft category preferred - Commercial/Instrument rating required - CFI/CFII (Rotor wing) required or willingness to obtain within one year - Subject to DOT/FAA drug and/or alcohol testing IFR Program Flight Hour Requirements: - 2,500 total flight hours with minimum 2,000 hours in category - 1,000 hours PIC in category - 500 hours cross-country flight time (at least 50 hours at night) - 500 hours turbine time - 100 hours night flight time - 100 hours flight in actual instrument conditions in category

Additional requirements

• High school diploma or GED with three to five years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Previous Instructor/Check Airman experience
• CFI / CFII (Rotor wing) or willingness to obtain within one year
• Subject to DOT/FAA drug and/or alcohol testing

Compensation and Benefits

$114,000 – $119,000 per year (USD)
