Job description

PAL Aerospace is looking for Training Managers to join the Airborne Maritime Surveillance Division (AMSD) team in Campbell River, BC, Halifax, NS or St. John's, NL. The Training Manager is responsible for delivering, evaluating, and maintaining pilot training programs to ensure compliance with company standards, Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), and approved training programs. This role supports safe, standardized flight operations through effective instruction, mentoring, and performance assessment. Key Responsibilities: - Training Delivery: Conduct ground school, simulator, and line training for flight crew. Deliver recurrent, upgrade, and initial aircraft type training. Ensure all instruction aligns with Company Operations Manual (COM), SOPs, and approved training programs. - Evaluation & Checking: Assess pilot competency through formal evaluations and line checks. Identify training deficiencies and recommend corrective actions. Provide structured feedback and coaching to trainees. - Standardization: Promote adherence to SOPs and operational best practices. Support standardization initiatives across fleets and bases. Participate in training meetings and calibration sessions. - Program Development & Support: Assist in development and revision of training programs, manuals, and courseware. Provide input on training improvements based on operational experience. Support implementation of new procedures, aircraft, or regulatory requirements. - Safety & Compliance: Ensure all training complies with CARs, company manuals, and approved syllabi. Contribute to the Safety Management System (SMS) through reporting and hazard identification. Maintain accurate training records and documentation. Qualifications: - Must have experience on DHC-8 and/or King Air - Valid ATPL - 3,500 hours total time - 500 multi-engine hours - 1,000 PIC hours - Instrument Rating - Multi-engine Rating - Ability to work in a cohesive team environment - Experience in a leadership or supervisory role would be considered an asset - Excellent organizational skills - Knowledge of Aerospace operations - Experience in document management and developing new procedures
