Job description

SkyWest Airlines is currently accepting applications for First Officers. Applicants must assist the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) in conducting flights safely and efficiently, assist with prompt departures, and assist or relieve the PIC in manipulation of flight controls including taxiing, takeoff, and landing. Requirements: - Valid driver's license - Commercial Pilot License with Multi-engine and Instrument Ratings - Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate (verified at interview) - U.S. citizen or proof of right to work in the U.S. upon hire - FCC Radio License - English Proficiency Endorsement (EPE) - Current Passport - Available to work all hours including nights, weekends, and holidays - Available for call-out with as little as two hours notice - Within three months of minimum hour requirements ATP Written: SkyWest will provide means to complete a SkyWest-approved CTP course for applicants who pass the pilot interview. Applicants must meet one of the following minimums: Option A – ATP Certificate (1,500 hours): - At least 23 years old - 500 hours cross country - 100 hours night - 75 hours instrument - 25 hours actual multi-engine Option B – Restricted ATP (1,500 hours): - At least 21 years old - 200 hours cross country - 100 hours night - 75 hours instrument - 25 hours actual multi-engine Option C – Restricted ATP (1,250 hours): - At least 21 years old - 30 semester credit hours of aviation-related coursework and transcripts - Associate degree from approved institution - 200 hours cross country - 100 hours night - 75 hours instrument - Instrument Commercial Rating earned under Part 141 at approved institution Option D – Restricted ATP (1,000 hours): - At least 21 years old - 60 semester credit hours of aviation-related coursework - Bachelor's degree from approved institution - 200 hours cross country - 100 hours night - 75 hours instrument - Instrument commercial rating earned under Part 141 Option E – Military pilot (750 hours): - DD-214 Honorable Discharge or record of current service SkyWest accepts helicopter/glider time as part of total time provided applicant has a minimum of 250 PIC hours of fixed wing. Must possess and/or obtain a current passport with ability to travel in/out of U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Bahamas without restriction.

  • Restricted ATP pathways require an associate or bachelor's degree from an approved institution with aviation coursework and a Part 141 instrument/commercial rating; military pathway requires DD-214 Honorable Discharge or record of current service
  • Bases: Phoenix, Tucson, Fresno, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, San Diego, San Francisco, Colorado Springs, Denver, Boise, Chicago, Minneapolis, Detroit, Portland, Houston, Dallas, Salt Lake City or Seattle
