Job description

Medevac Captain position reporting to the 703/704 Chief Pilot. Perimeter Medevac Pilots transport thousands of passengers each year. The number one priority is to conduct each flight safely, taking into consideration on-time performance and the comfort of each passenger. Medevac Pilots work closely with other crew members and flight followers to ensure Medevac transfers are performed efficiently and effectively. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct flights with strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, Canadian Aviation Regulations, Aircraft Flight Manual, and Company Operations Manual - Complete preflight calculations including Operational Flight Plan, Weather, NOTAMs, Fuel and oil requirements, Weight and balance, signing and accepting the Manifest, Journey Log Entries - Ensure aeroplane pre-flight inspection is completed before each departure - Lift, load and secure patients, cargo, baggage and freight - Assist medical crew when required and appropriate - Ensure passengers are briefed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures - Complete flight watch jointly with flight dispatcher (Type B) and flight watch (Type C) - Complete all post-flight duties including post flight inspection, notification/confirmation of aeroplane whereabouts, recording flight times and any defects - Actively participate in the Company's Safety Management System Minimum Requirements: - High school diploma or GED equivalent - Commercial Pilot License - Category 1 Medical - Current Group 1 Instrument Rating - 1,500 hours Total Flight Time with 500 PIC hours - ATPL for 703/704 Medevac Captains - Canadian citizenship or ability to work in Canada unrestricted - Fluent in English with effective verbal and listening comprehension - Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations - Child Abuse Registry and Criminal Record check required - Valid Passport required - Valid Driver's License required - Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset
