Captain - Bell 407 (NTR)

Job description

Helicopter Pilot - Live Oak, FL (AirLife 7 Florida). Operates Bell 407 GXP with Bell Auto-Pilot under VFR program. Responsible for ensuring aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy to transport medical crew and patient to receiving hospital within an assigned operational area. Responsible for compliance with FAR, AIM, GOM, and Air Methods policies and procedures. Schedule: 7/7, 12-hour shifts. Responsibilities: - Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner - Complete pre-flight checks and sign off Daily Flight Log - Final authority regarding aircraft operations and safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment - Familiar with all aircraft and medical systems at operational area - Complete required documentation - Conduct detailed flight planning with little notice - Participate in Air Methods meetings, activities, and community outreach Qualifications: - Associate's degree or equivalent; Bachelor's preferred - Weight not to exceed 250 lbs; must be under 70 years old - Must have flown in category for a commercial operator or military within the previous 24 months VFR Program Requirements: - 2,000 total flight hours with minimum 1,500 hours in category (rotor wing) - 1,000 hours PIC in category - 500 hours rotor wing turbine time - 200 hours cross-country flight time, at least 50 hours at night - 100 hours unaided night as PIC (50 hours unaided can be substituted by 100 hours NVG, but cannot be reduced below 50 hours unaided) - 50 hours total actual or hood instrument time in flight and in category (simulator does not count) Certificates/Licenses: - Commercial & Instrument Rating (for category and class of aircraft); ATP in category meets this requirement - First OR Second Class FAA Medical certificate required - Subject to DOT/FAA drug and/or alcohol testing

Additional requirements

• Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two to five years' related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Weight not to exceed 250 pounds
• Must have flown in category for a commercial operator or in the military within the previous 24 months
• Subject to DOT/FAA drug and/or alcohol testing (pre-employment, random, reasonable cause/suspicion, post-accident)
