Job description

Fixed Wing Pilot – EMS Air Ambulance (PC-12, IFR) based in Farmington, NM. Responsible for ensuring aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy to transport medical crew and patient to receiving hospital within an assigned operational area. Responsible for compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), General Operations Manual (GOM), and Air Methods policies and procedures. Essential Functions: - Operate Air Methods aircraft safely and legally. - Complete pre-flight inspections and sign off Daily Flight Log. - Final authority over aircraft operations and safety of passengers, cargo and equipment. - Familiar with all aircraft and medical systems of backup aircraft. - Complete required documentation. - Conduct detailed flight planning with little notice. - Participate in Air Methods meetings, activities, projects, and community outreach. Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off (12-hour shifts). Required Flight Times (Fixed Wing IFR Program): - 2,500 total flight hours with a minimum of 2,000 hours in category (fixed wing) - 1,000 hours PIC in category - 500 hours of cross-country flight time - 500 hours Fixed Wing Turbine time - 100 hours of night flight time - 100 hours of actual instrument conditions in category Certificates / Licenses: - Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating (for category and class of aircraft); ATP rating in category meets this requirement. - First or Second Class FAA Medical Certificate required. Additional Requirements: - Must have flown in category for a commercial operator or in the military within the previous 24 months. - Weight not to exceed 250 lbs; must be less than 70 years old. - Subject to DOT/FAA drug and/or alcohol testing. Education: - Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school plus 2–5 years related experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.
