Job description

Flight / Ground Instructor (Flight Crew Training) Position / role Flight / ground instructor (responsible for flight crew training). Job description - Delivery of recurrent training (ground school and simulator training) relating to the maintenance of flight crew qualifications, and delivery of training (ground school and simulator training) relating to the qualification of captain-qualification pilot candidates and first-officer-qualification pilot candidates. - Preparation of training materials and documents. Employment type Part-time / casual (arubaito / part). Place of work Head office and the simulator building (Shin-Seibijo Station on the Tokyo Monorail), or a location designated by the company. Salary Negotiable. - Basic pay: in accordance with company regulations (hourly rate). - Allowances: in accordance with company regulations. Working hours Average 7.5 hours per day, less than 80 hours per month. (Work on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and in early-morning and late-night periods may be required.) Ground school instructor Applicants must meet either (1) or (2) below: (1) Experience as a ground instructor (experience with the practical aircraft course, SYSTEM or FBS is an advantage). (2) Experience as flight crew (must hold a JCAB Airline Transport Pilot Licence or a JCAB Commercial Pilot Licence skill certificate). 2. Simulator flight instructor Applicants must meet all of (1), (2) and (3) below: (1) Experience flying as a captain at a scheduled airline. (2) Must hold a JCAB Airline Transport Pilot Licence (skill certificate). (3) Must hold a Boeing 737 type rating. Selection process Stage 1: screening via the application form. Stage 2: individual interview (in person at head office). Final stage: executive interview (in person at head office).

Additional requirements

  • Two separate tracks with different requirements.
  • GROUND SCHOOL INSTRUCTOR — meet either (1) or (2): (1) experience as a ground instructor (practical aircraft course / SYSTEM / FBS experience an advantage); or (2) experience as flight crew holding a JCAB ATPL or JCAB Commercial Pilot Licence. Route (1) requires no pilot licence at all.
  • SIMULATOR FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR — meet all of: (1) captain experience at a scheduled airline; (2) JCAB ATPL; (3) Boeing 737 type rating.
  • Because a B737 type rating is required only for the simulator-instructor track, it is not a universal filter for this posting.
  • Salary is negotiable, hourly rate per company regulations.
  • Working hours average 7.5 hours/day and under 80 hours/month, including weekends, public holidays, early mornings and late nights.
  • Social insurance is workers' accident compensation only; health, pension and employment insurance apply if working over 20 hours per week.
  • Location: head office and simulator building at Shin-Seibijo Station (Tokyo Monorail).
