Job description

Tradewind Aviation is a leading Part 135 commuter and on-demand private charter operator with operational bases at Waterbury/Oxford, CT (OXC), Westchester, NY (HPN), Stuart, FL (SUA), and San Juan, PR (SJU) airports. Founded in 2001, Tradewind provides personal air travel—both private and scheduled service—throughout North America and the Caribbean. Position: PC-12 First Officer (SIC) Tradewind Pilatus PC-12 Pilots are responsible for safe and efficient flight operations as part of a formal two-pilot crew, maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer service. Requirements: - FAA First Class Medical - FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Airplane Single-Engine Land (ASEL) - FAA Instrument Rating - FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit - Valid unrestricted driver's license and passport - High School Diploma or GED - 800 hours total time preferred (reduced hours available for United Aviate / JetBlue program participants: 300–600 hours) - 75 hours night preferred - CFI, CFII preferred - Current IFR knowledge and experience - Thorough knowledge of Garmin 430 Avionics preferred - Must be at least 18 years of age - Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (or hold valid green card) - Must reside within a 60-minute callout of base; position is NOT commutable - Pass DOT/FAA compliant pre-employment drug screen and background check Reduced Hours Requirements: - United Aviate Program: 600 hours total time - United Aviate Academy: 500 hours total time - United Aviate Academy with Recommendation: 300 hours total time - JetBlue Participants: 600 hours total time

Additional requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Successful completion of a Part 61 or 141 flight training program required
  • FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit required
  • Valid unrestricted driver's license and valid unrestricted passport required
  • Current IFR knowledge and experience required
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Must be able to reside within a 60 minute callout of base; this position is NOT commutable
  • Must be able to relocate to other Company bases for seasonal business needs
  • Moderate to heavy lifting is required (up to 70lbs)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • International candidates must hold a non-conditional, non-expired green card, or a valid unrestricted foreign passport with appropriate visas
  • Pass DOT/FAA compliant pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Other bases: Waterbury-Oxford, CT (OXC), Stuart, FL (SUA), San Juan, PR (SJU)

Compensation and Benefits

$50,000 per year (USD)
