Captain - AS350 (NTR)

Job description

Air Methods is seeking a Helicopter Pilot (VFR) for the REMSA program based in Fallon, Nevada. The pilot is responsible for ensuring aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy to transport medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within an assigned operational area. Must comply with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), General Operations Manual guidelines (GOM), and Air Methods policies and procedures. Responsibilities: - Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner. - Complete pre-flight checks before every flight and verify airworthiness via Daily Flight Log sign-off. - Serve as final authority regarding aircraft operations and safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment. - Be thoroughly familiar with all aircraft and medical systems of backup aircraft. - Complete required documentation. - Conduct detailed flight planning with little notice. - Participate in Air Methods meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach. Schedule: 7/7 schedule, 12-hour shifts. Qualifications: - Associate's degree or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred. - Weight not to exceed 250 lbs; must be under 70 years of age. - Must have flown in category within the previous 24 months. VFR Program Flight Requirements: - 2,000 total flight hours with a minimum of 1,500 flight hours in category (rotor wing). - 1,000 hours PIC in category. - 500 hours rotor wing turbine. - 200 hours cross-country flight time, at least 50 hours at night. - 100 hours unaided night as PIC (50 hours unaided can be substituted by 100 hours NVG time, but cannot be reduced below 50 hours unaided). - 50 hours total actual or hood instrument time in flight and in category. Certificates/Licenses: - Instrument rating (for category and class of aircraft); ATP rating in category meets this requirement. - Commercial single-engine land required for single-engine aircraft. - First OR Second Class FAA Medical certificate required.
