Job description
Serves as a Standby Pilot in Command (PIC) for DHC-8 aircraft operating in overseas (OCONUS) environments under 14 CFR Part 135 operations. Responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of assigned aircraft while ensuring adherence to company policies, customer requirements, and applicable FAA regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Plan flights as assigned and obtain information regarding purpose of the flight, weather, operating procedures and special instructions. - Ensure proper preparation of flight plans considering altitude, terrain, weather, range, weight, cruise control data, airport facilities and navigational aids. - Ensure all flights are released in accordance with FAR 135 guidelines with all necessary documentation aboard. - Ensure required airworthiness inspections have been accomplished and discrepancies corrected or deferred per MEL. - Complete aircraft preflight inspection and perform preflight preparation including risk assessment. - Complete each flight as assigned, adhering to schedules, routes, and load manifests. - Ensure all crew members practice CRM and are fully briefed on flight particulars. - Communicate routinely with on-site management on safety, maintenance, life support, customer concerns, or personnel issues. Required Qualifications: - FAA Multi Engine Airline Transport Pilot Certificate - Current FAA First Class Medical - Current US Passport with at least 6 months remaining at all times - 1,500 hours PIC time - 500 hours PIC multi-engine - Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security clearance at the Secret level - High school diploma Preferred Qualifications: - 3,000 hours total time - 1,200 hours multi-engine turbine time - Experience in aerial delivery operations - Experience in NVG operations - Current and active U.S. Security clearance at the Secret level - At least one year of experience as a FAR Part 135 pilot - At least one year of Government contracting experience in OCONUS austere environments/locations Standby Requirements: - Must maintain a 48-hour or less notification posture for deployed tasking. - Must be available to support deployed days in excess of 120 days per year in various OCONUS locations worldwide.
