Job description

Canadian North is recruiting a First Officer (ATR42) based at Yellowknife Airport. Canadian North operates a fleet consisting of the 737 Classic and NG series as well as the ATR 42 and 72. ATR operations are based out of Yellowknife and Ottawa. Key Responsibilities: - The First Officer (second-in-command) is responsible to the Chief Pilot (on type) for the safe operation of the aircraft and the safety of all persons on board during flight. - Conduct flights in accordance with Canadian North SOP. - Ensure the safety of passengers, crew and aircraft by adhering to the Canadian North safety policy and utilizing the appropriate safety reporting program. - Must be properly qualified by the Company and successfully complete a Transport Canada Pilot Proficiency Check (PPC). Minimum Qualifications: - High School Diploma. - No previous experience required. - 750 hours total time OR 250 hours total time for graduates of a recognized aviation degree/diploma program (or similar). - Transport Canada Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with completion of either a valid IATRA or SARON and SAMRA exams. - Valid Transport Canada Group 1 Instrument Rating. - Valid Transport Canada Category 1 Medical Certificate. - Legally entitled to work in Canada. - Current valid passport or Canadian Permanent Resident Card. - All required visas or travel documents allowing unrestricted travel. - Ability to communicate in Inuktut is a definite asset. - Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card.
